Fishing

Fishing is popular in the Arrow Lakes. From June to September, fishers can cast a line for Kokanee and Rainbow trout.

During winter months, Dolly Varden are a common catch and sizes are definitely worth talking about.

Whether fishing from a boat or from the shore, there's nothing like a fresh caught fish for dinner!

Take time for a Dip

Take some time relaxing in steaming mineral waters at either one of the two commercial Hot Springs.

Enjoy the soothing mineral water and kick-back while reflecting or planning  your day .

Open year-around, Nakusp (www.nakusphotsprings.com)  and Halcyon Hot Springs (www.halcyon-hotsprings.com)  are the hidden gems of the Selkirk Mountains.

And if a soothing soak is what you had in mind, but you prefer the serenity of your cabin, An Inn for Two provides an inviting soaker tub big enough for 2,  for you to immerse yourself in.

 Look out  for 'the locals'

Wilderness Opportunities

In the stillness of the dawn, or the quiet of days end, you may be treated to the local white tail or mule deer on the grounds of An Inn for Two.  Should you happen to catch a glimpse of them as they graze in the open field, quietly stand back and view these beauties, as they casually enjoy they daily meal.   This might be a good opportunity to snap a couple of pictures.

From Eagles and Osprey, to Bear, Moose, and possibly even the occasional Elk that may venture from the bush, the Kootenays have a wide array of Wildlife.

Experience a Farmers' Market

Many tasty treats and artistic treasures can be found at the local Farmers' Market.  Whether shopping at the Saturday morning market in Nakusp - running every Saturday between 9am to 1pm from May 20th - October 7th.  or The Market in Edgewood on Sundays, every second Sunday at the Ballpark, you are sure to leave with a goody or two!
